GPS for beer kegs

CINCINNATI - September 2, 2008 - But it's not the brew the crooks are after.

It's the stainless steel the kegs are made from that can be traded in for cash.

In response, many beer distributors are now putting G-P-S tracking devices on the kegs.

The trend comes as the price for stainless scrap keeps rising.

The price has nearly doubled in the last five years, making an 18-pound keg worth more than 35-dollars to would-be thieves.
