It happened at the Gulf station at Landis and Lincoln Avenues in Vineland, Cumberland County, just before 11 p.m. Thursday.
Witnesses say the attendant was shot in the leg during an attempted robbery.
State police deployed helicopters to search for the gunman.
The worker is at the hospital. His condition is not known to us.
