Fallout from "mooning" incident

The University of Pittsburgh is withdrawing from debate tournaments and a debate coach has apologized for an argument in which another coach "mooned" her during a tournament. The university says it will no longer participate in tournaments conducted by the Cross Examination Debate Association.

Pitt professor Shanara Reid-Brinkley argued with Bill Shanahan. He was fired as debate coach at Fort Hays State in Kansas after a video of him dropping his pants in front of Reid-Brinkley aired on YouTube last month.

Shanahan and Reid-Brinkley argued after the Fort Hays team removed a debate judge and a competing team suggested it was because she was black. Shanahan is white.

Reid-Brinkley won't coach or travel with debate teams this year and apologized for using obscenities during the argument.
