Villanova grounds out 21-7 victory

Aaron Ball ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns to lead Villanova to a 21-7 victory over Delaware. Villanova outgained the Blue Hens 377-175 and finished with its first nine-victory season since winning a school-record 12 games in 1997.

Villanova ran for 317 yards behind Ball, Chris Whitney and Matthew Szczur.

Villanova scored twice in the final seven minutes of the second quarter to take control.

Whitney's 1-yard touchdown run capped a 10-play, 65-yard drive.

The Wildcats then stopped the Blue Hens on a fourth-and-1 at their 40. And Ball broke off a 51-yard touchdown run to give Villanova a 14-0 advantage.

Ball added a 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, finishing a seven-play, 62-yard drive.
