Pennsylvania State Police Avondale Barracks are on the lookout for a man they say impersonated a police officer. On Wednesday at approximately 7:40 a.m., a 20-year-old woman was driving her vehicle on Cypress State in the borough of Kennett Square.

As the woman approached the Rose Alley intersection, the suspect initiated a traffic stop by activating a red dashboard light, mounted in his vehicle.

The victim pulled her vehicle over and the suspect pulled his vehicle behind.

The man approached the woman and she, believing the man to be a police officer, gave the suspect her driver's license. During the encounter, the victim became alarmed at things the suspect said to her and the victim asked to see the suspect's badge.

The suspect broke off the encounter and left the area.

It is noted that the investigation also includes the offense of stalking.

The suspect has followed the victim numerous times over the past week. The suspect has followed the victim in the Kennett Square area and the West Chester area.
