Sketch released of 'Petite Bandit'

New Castle County Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery of a man who was accosted while entering his apartment building. The victim was able to wrestle away a firearm from the female suspect before she was able to steal any property from him.

Police were called out Building R in the Georgetown Village Apartments for a report of an attempted armed robbery.

When police arrived, the 51-year-old victim told them that a young petite female had just attempted to rob him at gunpoint. He then showed police the handgun she had used, which he was able to attain by momentarily distracting the girl.

The suspect is described as a black female who stands between 5'0" to 5'3", weighs about 100 pounds, has medium brown skin, black hair and is approximately 20-23 years of age. She was wearing dark green pants, a dark green shirt, and a blue knit cap.
