Hazmat situation on NJ Turnpike

Hazmat crews in Cherry Hill and Gloucester Twp were called out to the exit ramp of the New Jersey Turnpike for an overturned truck that was leaking asphalt onto the highway.According to Sgt. Jones from the New Jersey State Police, a tractor trailer overturned on the exit ramp on to the southbound lanes of the Black Horse Pike at around 10:00 a.m. Saturday.

When the truck overturned, liquid asphalt spilled on to the ramp onto both the entrance and exit lanes.

The exit 3 ramp was closed but has since reopened with delays.

The truck driver is said to have suffered a minor injury.
