Elderly woman struck and killed

SOMERTON - September 9, 2009 The accident happened after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the 800 block of Red Lion Road near Verree Road.

Police say an 81-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle. The motorist stayed at the scene.

She was taken to Aria Health Care Torresdale Division and where she was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating.
