Authorities say Robles shot Rupp in the head in July 2008 after the men argued over a handicapped parking space. Police say the space was the source of a long-running dispute between the men, who both had handicapped parking placards.
During his trial Robles testified that Rupp grabbed him during the argument so he shot at his feet and legs. Robles said the gun jammed then accidentally went off, striking Rupp in the head.
At sentencing Robles apologized to Rupp's family.
