Dog lovers in Fairbanks, Alaska, have learned to do mouth-to-snout resuscitation.

About two dozen people attended the three-hour Red Cross class on first aid for dogs over the weekend.

Students learned how to perform the Heimlich maneuver on a choking pooch.

Instructor Kristi Davis also teaches human CPR courses.

Davis says doing CPR on a dog is so close to the human technique, "it's not funny."

But a human isn't likely to lick you as a way saying thanks.
