DC tourists differ on president's religion

WASHINGTON (AP) - August 19, 2010

Bruce Robertson of Baltimore said he accepts that Obama is a Christian and attributes growing doubts among those surveyed to "uninformed public opinion."

Brandon Hester of Virginia Beach, Va., said Obama's conduct as president could suggest he's more Muslim than Christian. He observed that Obama had a White House observance for Ramadan but not for the National Day of Prayer.

Other tourists said they didn't know or didn't care what religion the president practices.

Brenda Cooper of Terre Haute, Ind., said she thought Obama was Muslim, but added, "I think it's fine. He's a good president."
