NJ diner destroyed by morning fire

Chopper 6 flew over the scene of Newtons Diner, which caught fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters battled a diner fire just as the Friday morning rush hour was starting.

The flames hit the Newton Diner at about 4:45 a.m. Friday morning.

Newton is on the 900 block of the Whitehorse Pike in Haddon Twp.

Firefighters found heavy fire when they arrived.

According to Capt. Tagmier of Haddon Twp. Police, the fire went to 3 alarms before being brought under control.

There were no injuries, however the diner was completely destroyed and will be demolished.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
