A block-long stretch of Broad Street is being rechristened Wednesday in honor of Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff. A concert and ceremony appending "Gamble and Huff Walk" to the street's name will be held outside the duo's Philadelphia International Records building.
Gamble and Huff were the producers behind hits like "Love Train" and "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now." Performers including Teddy Pendergrass, Patti LaBelle, Lou Rawls and the O'Jays recorded with Gamble and Huff, helping create the style known as the Sound of Philadelphia.
