Three injured in two-car crash in Newark

Three people were injured on Tuesday morning on Route 1 in Newark, Delaware following a two-vehicle crash.

Three people were injured on Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle crash in Delaware.

The accident happened just after 7:30 a.m. along Route 1 northbound in the vicinity of the Christiania Mall in Newark, DE.

Police tell Action News that a vehicle was initially traveling southbound and lost control on the ice covered roadaway.

The vehicle then crossed the median and struck in SUV traveling in the northbound lanes.

Three people suffered non-life threatening injuries and have been transported to local hospitals.

One lane in the northbound direction was getting as Delaware State police investigate the crash.
