Man dies in Summerdale fire

SUMMERDALE - January 26, 2011

The blaze broke out around 1:30 a.m., on the 4700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard in the city's Summerdale Section.

When firefighters arrived, just four minutes after getting the call, they found smoke and flames pouring out of the twin home's windows.

During the fire, a stairway collapsed.

Firefighters found the victim on the third floor of the house.

He died at the scene.

The man is the seventh to die in a Philadelphia fire this year.

There were no other injuries.

Investigators are searching for the cause.
