A car that struck a pedestrian in the Tioga-Nicetown section of Philadelphia on Tuesday night may be linked to an earlier homicide.

The pedestrian, an 18-year-old man, was hit around 11:15 p.m. near Broad and Erie.

The driver then sped off and crashed the Ford Crown Victoria into a pole just up the road near Broad and Venango.

A large hole could be seen where the victim slammed into the windshield.

The pedestrian was taken to Temple Hospital in critical condition.

Investigators say the car involved matched the general description of a vehicle involved in an earlier homicide on Clifford Street.
