A woman has been charged with DUI after a fiery crash in New Castle County, Delaware.

The crash happened around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Ramsey Road near the intersection of Thompson Bridge Road in Centerville.

Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Lutz was speeding in her Lexus when she lost control and slammed into a Ford Taurus.

The 40-year-old woman driving the Ford was able to get out and, moments later, her car burst into flames.

She was treated and released from the hospital with minor injuries.

The responding police officer reported that Lutz had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. Police say she was then found to be driving under the influence.

Lutz was charged and released with a pending court date.
