Police investigate suspicious death in New Castle

Delaware State Police say they are investigating what they call a suspicious death in New Castle.

Troopers were called for a report of a man down at the Fairview Inn in the 1000 Block of South Market Street around 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.

The man was found in the parking lot suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound to the chest.

However, no official cause of death has been released.

The victim has only been identified as a 47-year-old Wilmington man.

State police homicide detectives are now on the scene.
