Ferry damaged by fire on Camden Waterfront

CAMDEN, N.J. - July 5, 2011

Police say the pylons on which the Freedom Ferry was tied caught fire around 1:30 Tuesday morning. The flames spread to the Freedom and caused some damage.

The Camden Fire Department along with Philadelphia Marine units responded to the fire. Firefighters had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.

Investigators are still trying to figure out how it started.

The Ferry is used for tourist tours along the Camden Waterfront.
