Phillies' Lidge pitches perfect inning at Double-A

READING, Pa. (AP) - July 11, 2011

The All-Star closer hasn't pitched in the majors this season. The 34-year-old right-hander struck out two in the sixth inning in an Eastern League game for Reading against Trenton. Reading beat the New York Yankees' affiliate 7-6 in 11 innings.

Lidge made three appearances at Class A Lakewood this season, giving up one run in three innings. He has been hoping to rejoin Philadelphia sometime after the All-Star break.
