It's the 26th annual World Punkin Chunkin Championship.
And competitors will be gunning for Jake Burton.
He's a grizzled veteran at just age 24.
His team Young Glory III is the current record-holder, with an air cannon that fired a pumpkin more than 4,480 feet.
Burton tells The Daily Times of Salisbury they've been test-firing the big gun since Labor Day.
This will be Burton's 10th Punkin Chunkin.
He started in the kids' category and was the youth record-holder, too.
