The accident happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. at 71st Street and Buist Avenue.
Police say two vehicles collided with one of the vehicles taking out a nearby fire hydrant.
Fire medics rushed a 41-year-old woman to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for care.
It is not clear if the female transported was the woman ejected from the vehicle.
