The fire happened around 11:30 p.m. on I-295 North about 1/4 mile South of Exit 17.
The highway was shut down while firefighters battled the blaze that left the tractor-trailer charred.
The Gibbstown Fire Chief says, crews used more than 8,000 gallons of water to put the fire out.
There were no reports of any injuries and traffic was getting by in the left lane after the fire was extinguished.
