Family pet saved in Gloucester Co. fire

Fire crews rescued a small black dog from a 2-alarm house fire in Washington Twp., New Jersey early Friday morning.

The fire broke out in a 2-story single family home around 12:30 a.m. on the unit block of Venus Way.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw the blaze was burning through the roof.

A second alarm was struck and it took about an hour to get the fire under control.

Firefighters were able to save the family's dog inside the residence who was home alone.

So far, there are no reports of injuries and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
