It was just before 8:30 a.m. when the school bus collided with a Toyota Camry on the 1200 block of Salem Road.

A total of 15 children, between the ages of 8 and 11-years-old, were onboard en route to the Fountainwoods Elementary School at the time of the accident.

Seven of the students were transported to local hospitals where they were treated and released for minor injuries.

The driver of the Camry remains hospitalized with serious injuries.

Officials say there were seatbelts on the bus, but it is unclear if the children were wearing them.

There is no word at this time on what led to the crash.
