Police say the 14-year-old victim was walking in the wooded area behind the Buck Algonquin manufacturing building at 370 North Main Street which is across the street from Smyrna Elementary School.
The victim, police say, was attacked from behind and dragged into the woods.
The alleged rape took place some time between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The suspect is described as being a white male in his early to mid-20s, 5'10 to 6' tall, with dark hair in a short crew cut. The suspect was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt.
The victim told detectives that she recalls seeing a tattoo of some sort on the suspect's arm.
