Eighteen-year-old Dashawn Dorsett pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree murder in the slaying of 17-year-old Larry J.A. Parks III last year.
Deputy Attorney General Mark Conner tells The News Journal of Wilmington (http://delonline.us/15uA0zG) that Parks and Dorsett had been in a days-long dispute on Twitter and in text messages over a girl.
Officials say on Jan. 21, 2012, Parks and Dorsett confronted one another on the street. Prosecutors say Parks swung at Dorsett, who pulled out a gun and shot Parks once in the chest.
Prosecutors agreed to seek no more than 20 years in prison for Dorsett at sentencing in September.
