Police: Woman kept stillborn baby in trash bag

TULLYTOWN, Pa. - July 22, 2013

Police say the woman, 38-year-old Lori Bendorovich of Tullytown, gave birth on Monday, July 15th but didn't tell anyone about it.

Then, on Thursday, one of the suspect's teenage sons called 911 to say there was a dead baby in a trash bag inside the home in the 200 block of Lakeside Drive.

"I believe it was actually her elder son who discovered the body because of the smell of decomposition," said Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler.

Officers responded and found the baby in the trash bag.

An autopsy performed on Friday confirmed the baby was stillborn, police said.

Bendorovich allegedly told police she didn't know she was pregnant until she gave birth, but police dispute that claim.

Investigators have uncovered emails that she allegedly exchanged with the baby's father. They say she told him she had an abortion.

"He actually expresses a desire to have the child and raise the child even if she is not interested in doing so," Heckler said.

Bendorovich is charged with concealing the death of a child and abusing a corpse. More charges could be added as the investigation continues.

She is free on $500,000 unsecured bail pending a preliminary hearing later this month.
