NASHVILLE, Tenn. - January 6, 2014 --
A Southern pastor who tried to leave the country is now the lead suspect in his wife's murder. Police have charged Reverend Richard Lee Shahan with killing his wife, Karen, inside their Alabama home in July.
Police arrested Shahan after he booked a flight from Nashville to Frankfurt, Germany.
Police say inconsistencies during questioning led to his arrest.
Shahan's attorney insists his client was not trying to flee at all.
