Police have charged Reverend Richard Lee Shahan with killing his wife, Karen, inside their Alabama home in July.
Police arrested Shahan after he booked a flight from Nashville to Frankfurt, Germany.
Police say inconsistencies during questioning led to his arrest.
Shahan's attorney insists his client was not trying to flee at all.
