The state health department says there has been a big jump in cases over the last week, this coming on top of levels that are already considered widespread.
Officials say there have been 6 confirmed flu deaths.
Texas has been the hardest-hit nationwide with 21 suspected deaths in the Dallas area alone.
Complicating matters is a national shortage of liquid Tamiflu.
The kid's version of the antiviral drug has been on high demand since so many kids have been sickened by the H1N1 flu this winter.
