Workers shield wounded teen from gunman in Germantown

PHILADELPHIA - January 17, 2014

It happened after 12:30 a.m. Friday.

According to police, a gunman opened fire on the teen near Green Street and West Queen Lane, hitting him four times in the groin.

The boy managed to run into a Sunoco Mini Mart with the gunman in pursuit.

Police say the gunman tried to follow the victim into the store but employees locked him out. The gunman fled.

Medics arrived and rushed the boy to an area hospital. He's listed in critical but stable condition.

Police are now reviewing surveillance video from the gas station to track down the shooter.
