Police say a man walking his dog called police after find a man lying on a picnic table at Kosciuszko Park in the 700 block of South Broom Street just after 7:00 a.m.
Police arrived to find a man, believed to be in his 30s, with a gunshot wound to the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the wound was self-inflicted.
The body was turned over to the Office of the Medical Examiner for identification and autopsy.
