Burst pipe floods, heavily damages church

WILMINGTON, Del. - January 26, 2014

Officials with the Fresh Fire Church in Wilmington were greeted by about 2 feet of water in their church at 23rd and Northeast Boulevard when they arrived Sunday morning.

Sometime before they arrived at 9 a.m., a sprinkler pipe inside the church burst.

Damage to the building is reportedly "heavy," prompting the Wilmington Fire Department and officials from the Licenses department to make sure the building is still safe.

There is no word yet where services will be held.
