Police investigate assault on 3-year-old in SW Philadelphia

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - April 30, 2014

Shortly after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia after a 3-year-old child was admitted for burns.

Investigators determined that the incident happened at a home on the 1800 block of South Conestoga Street.

Police say the boy was being watched by his mother's boyfriend while she was at work.

The Special Victims Unit is investigating. No arrests have been made.

Authorities have not released any further information regarding the incident.
