Body discovered in Schuylkill River near South Philadelphia refinery

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A body was discovered in the Schuylkill River on the grounds of a South Philadelphia refinery.

It happened around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday along the 3100 block of West Passyunk Avenue.

Police say an employee at Energy Solutions was doing a weekly check and discovered the partially decomposed body.

The man was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt, tan pants, black sneakers and gloves.

His body was recovered at 8:33 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
