Man charged with murder after body found in Frankford yard

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have charged a man with murder after a woman's body was found in the backyard of a Frankford home.

30-year-old Jeffrey Bowen has been charged with the murder of 39-year-old Kelly Hepft.

At approximately 11:36 a.m. on March 24, police responded to a home on the 4700 block of Frankford Avenue for the report of a possible body.

Police exhumed a woman's body wrapped in a black plastic bag from the yard.

The body was transported to the medical examiner's office, who determined the cause of death to be multiple stab wounds to the head, neck and chest and the manner of death to be Homicide.

Bowen has also been charged with Robbery, Theft, Abuse of Corpse and related offenses.
