Police: Burglary suspect flees after confronted by resident

HAVERFORD TWP., Pa. -- Police in Delaware County arrested an attempted burglary who they say ran from the home after being spotted by the resident.

Haverford Township police were called to the 1000 block of Allston Road at 11:05 a.m. Monday for the report of an attempted burglary.

Police say the resident confronted the suspect as he entered through a second floor bedroom window.

At that moment, the suspect exited through the same window and fled on foot.

Police searched the area using a description of the suspect given by the victim.

Detective Thomas Long noticed a man fitting the description of the suspect at East Township Line Road and Magnolia Terrace.

Police say the suspect shoved Detective Long and ran away.

After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody.

He has been identified as 30-year-old Paul Giuliano of Havertown, Pa.

Giuliano is charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Resisting Arrest.
