PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- If you want mom to really sparkle this year, perhaps a diamond is on your weekend gift list.

You've already heard of the four "C's" when shopping for a diamond: Cut, Clarity, Color and Carat.

But the American Gem Society says also consider the three other "C's:" the Center stone, or focal point, Custom and Creativity.

In other words, don't be afraid to come up with your own design, and consider other metals besides traditional gold.
