Car plunges down embankment, gets stuck in Fairmount Park

FAIRMOUNT PARK -- Police and firefighters were on the scene of a crash in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.

It happened at 8 a.m. Tuesday on Ford Road.

First responders tell Action News a driver lost control approaching the Strawberry Mansion Bridge.

The car went down an embankment nose-first and became vertically wedged in some brush.

The driver refused medical treatment. There was no immediate word what caused that person to lose control.

Crews were working to remove the vehicle.
