Decomposed body found in Delaware River

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating after the discovery of a badly decomposed body in the Delaware River.

The body was discovered just before 7 p.m. Saturday by the Navy Yard in the 4500 block of South Broad Street in South Philadelphia.

The race and sex of the body cannot be determined at this time.

The body has been turned over to the medical examiner to determine a cause of death.
