New law bans minors from tanning in Delaware

Minors cannot use tanning beds in Delaware anymore, regardless of whether they have their parents' consent.

Governor Jack Markell signed a bill back in July that bans anyone under 18 from using the UV machines.

It took effect on January 1st.

The surgeon general has ranked indoor tanning as one of the greatest preventable health problems in our country, saying it is especially dangerous for its links to cancer in young people.
