The FAA has released air traffic control audio from the aborted landing at Philadelphia International Airport back in March.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The FAA has released air traffic control audio from the aborted landing at Philadelphia International Airport back in March.

US Airways Flight 1702 was bound for Fort Lauderdale but just as the plane was leaving the ground, a tire blew and the pilot elected to abort the takeoff.

In addition to the blown tire, the plane's nose gear collapsed, according to the airline.

Then came this, an exchange heard between the pilot and the control tower, on the tapes:

"Captain 1702 as soon as you can, if you could give me any information you can it would help out the emergency personnel," said the air traffic controller.

"It shows smoke coming out of the left engine," said the pilot

"Okay thank you, yea I do see some smoke coming out of your left side, thank you," said the air traffic controller.

"Is it bad? Is it bad?" asked the pilot to which the air traffic controller answered, "Yes."

Passengers left the plane via the inflatable slides and took off running to avoid any possible danger.

There were no injuries among the passengers or crew members.

FAA officials have not released the findings of their official report.
