Body found in Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park

FAIRMOUNT PARK (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the discovery of a man's body in the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park.

The discovery was made around 4:00 p.m. Friday.

Authorities say the body was found in the river near Kelly Drive under the Roosevelt Boulevard Extension.

The victim is only described as a white male. No word on his identity.

A cause of death has not yet been determined.
