WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. -- Authorities are trying to identify a body that was found floating in the Mullica River.
But it's not clear what caused the person's death or how they ended up in the waterway.
State police say a fisherman in Washington Township reported finding the body around 11 a.m. Saturday. It was removed from the water a short time later by a state police marine unit crew.
A state police spokesman said it appeared that the body "had been in the water for a little while." The person's gender also has not been determined.
Further details on the investigation have not been disclosed.
