CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- More than two dozen local high school students were honored Thursday night as Philadelphia's future leaders.
The inaugural gala was held at the Union League of Philadelphia in Center City and was modeled after the NBA draft.
As each student's name was called, they were presented with a Philadelphia 76ers jersey.
The 15 students are the first Fellow Class of the Germination Project.
The organization connects students to current leaders who are committed to service initiatives across the area.
Sixers coach Brett Brown was on hand to help cheer on the students as they received their honors.
