Walking more can lower risk is early death
Walking more can lower risk is early death: Ali Gorman reports during Action News at 5pm on October 19, 2017.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- We're learning more about the benefits of walking. A little can go a long way.

Researchers followed more than 130,000 adults over the age of 55 for more than a decade.

They found those who walked more than two hours per week, even if that was their only exercise, lowered their risk of dying early from many diseases.

This held true for men and women of different races and regardless of other health risks.

The study also found walking for more than two hours, two-and-a-half to five hours per week was linked to even greater benefits.

So if you can walk, it's an easy way to improve your overall health.
