Pregnant woman's heart failure leads to historic birth for hospital.

BOSTON, Massachusetts (WPVI) -- A woman's heart failure led to a historic birth at a Massachusetts hospital.

Little Ezra Weaver is the first baby born in the cardiothoracic intensive care unit at Tufts Medical Center.

Jillian Weaver went into the unit last week with a weak and enlarged heart - a complication of her pregnancy.

Doctors scheduled a caesarean section, but before they could do it, Jillian went into labor, and Ezra was born.

"She was born in a place where a lot of people go to pass on. And she kind of brought a little light into that part of the world," says father, Micah Weaver.

Doctors now hope Jillian's heart recovers, as sometimes happens in pregnancy-related heart failure.

If it doesn't, they'll implant a permanent defibrillator in her heart.

Till then, she's enjoying what she calls "her little miracle."
