Police say the driver was in a black Ford Mustang.
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A hit-and-run driver struck a University of Pennsylvania police officer on Saturday night.
According to police, the incident took place around 10:30 p.m. near 40th and Sansom streets.
University officials said the officer was investigating two people in a parked car when the driver suddenly sped off, hitting the officer.
Police say the driver was in a black Ford Mustang.
The officer was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. He was treated for his injuries and released, officials say.
Police are still searching for the driver.
