Police: Homeowner fires shot at burglary suspect in NE Philadelphia

A homeowner in Northeast Philadelphia stopped a would-be burglar in his tracks early Thursday morning.

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A homeowner in Northeast Philadelphia stopped a would-be burglar in his tracks early Thursday morning.

The incident happened around 1:00 a.m. on the 1500 block of Elbridge Street.

Police say the homeowner fired a shot at the suspect who did not fire back.

They say nothing was taken and there were no injuries.

Officers are searching for the suspect who ran off.

Police and K-9 units remained at the scene investigating.
