The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is officially shutting down its Level 1 Regional Trauma Center.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is officially shutting down its Level 1 Regional Trauma Center.

The hospital is switching it to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center at 3800 Powelton.

Critically injured victims will be rushed there instead starting at noon Tuesday.

HUP's emergency room will remain open, 24-7.
